Originating in the Andes Mountains of South America these hardy animals winter well in Speyside and their fleece is blended with Ryeland to create a very soft, yet durable, wool for fine knitting yarn.
At Campbell Cairns our small herd of Huacaya Alpacas cover four colour variants. Together with our flock of pure bred Ryeland sheep they combine to produce our ‘Elchies Duet’ range of natural wools.
